Acrylic and polyester are both fabrics of clothing. These two fabrics are often confused and need to be distinguished according to their fabric characteristics.
The difference between acrylic and polyester:
1. Different proportions. Polyester 1.38, acrylic 1.14.
2. Polyester fabric is not easy to wrinkle, and is stiff, with good dimensional stability and good shape retention. Acrylic fiber has poor shape retention, is not as stiff as polyester, and is easily deformed.
3. The melting point of polyester is 260℃, and the ironing temperature can be 180℃. The heat resistance of acrylic fiber is not good enough, the ironing temperature should be controlled below 140 ℃, and the low temperature resistance is good.
4. Acrylic fiber has high strength, good elastic recovery ability, excellent wear resistance, and is better than polyester in hygroscopicity and dyeing.
5. Polyester is resistant to sunlight, acid and alkali. Acrylic fiber is resistant to alkali but not acid, and has poor light resistance. Long-term exposure to sunlight will reduce the fiber strength and turn yellow in color.
6. Acrylic weaving feels smoother and has higher surface gloss. There are many fabrics in sportswear, swimwear, fitness clothes, and socks. Polyester fabrics mainly include knitted shirts, work clothes, warp knitted decorations, curtains, etc., and imitation silk, imitation wool, imitation linen, and cotton wool are also used a lot. Polyester staple yarn is often blended with cotton, wool, hemp, viscose, etc. The fabric not only maintains the characteristics of polyester, such as firmness, wear resistance, stiffness, and easy storage, but also has the characteristics of natural fiber moisture absorption, warmth retention, and less static electricity.
